Community Scholarships for WHS grads with some college credits

H.L Snyder Healthcare Foundation Scholarships

In 2002, the H.L. Snyder Medical Foundation established a scholarship fund to assist Winfield student residents who are seeking education in the medical and bio-medical fields. Students must be a resident of Winfield for the last 3 years or a graduate of Winfield High School-USD 465 and enrolled full time (12 hours or more) per semester in an accredited university or college program in the healthcare field. Scholarships will be available to students during their freshman year thru post graduate work in college with a 3.0 GPA or higher and are entering the healthcare or bio-science field.  Variable amounts awarded.

William Newton Healthcare Foundation Scholarship

Healthcare WORK COMMITMENT Scholarship
William Newton Healthcare Foundation provides scholarship opportunities to high school, college, graduate school students and current William Newton Hospital employees with the desire to obtain or advance in healthcare education or certification. The scholarship provides $500 to $1,000 per semester for recipients that meet eligibility requirements. Awardees are chosen based on eligibility requirements through a Scholarship Selection Committee. Scholarships are administered by William Newton Healthcare Foundation. A Work Commitment Agreement with William Newton Hospital is required from recipients of this scholarship.

Applicants must have been accepted into an accredited or other approved allied healthcare program and be pursuing a degree or certification in a specific skill set.  Applicants must be in good academic standing with a Grade Point Average of 3.0 or higher.
Applicant must maintain a 3.0 Grade Point Average. Applicant must maintain 12 hours or more for undergraduate work and a minimum of 3 hours for a graduate program (both numbers per semester). Applicant must be eligible for employment at William Newton Hospital and sign a Work Commitment Agreement. Applicant may be requested to participate in a personal interview with the Scholarship Selection Committee.$500 – $1,000 scholarship awarded.
Deadline is June 16 for Spring awards   November 17 for Fall awards
For renewal awards July 14 for Spring and December 15 for Fall

WN Healthcare Fd Scholarship Application 2023

William Newton Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship

Applicant must must be a permanent resident or graduate of the WNH primary service area, which includes the counties of Sumner, Cowley, Chautauqua, and Elk.  Applicant must be accepted into an accredited university or college program in the healthcare field.  Applicant must be in good academic standing with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.  Applicant must maintain full time status, 12 hours or more per semester.
$1,000 scholarship awarded.
Deadline is March 31

Winfield Rotary Club Scholarship

This scholarship is available to a WHS senior or post-graduate of good character and ability with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
Demonstration of “need” considered, but not necessary.
$1,000 scholarship awarded.

Winfield Soroptimist Almedia Greever Scholarship

This scholarship is available to young women graduates of Winfield High School, with a minimum of 24 hours from an accredited institution, who have completed their freshman year of college. A student can only win one of these scholarships. (See scholarship criteria below.)
